If it wasn’t so expensive I would happily drink the stuff every day. As it is I normally ration it until a hungover morning when I can’t really face much else. Sparkling water, ice and elderflower cordial in a pint glass is a brilliant refreshing drink that even the most hardened hangover will struggle to take offence to.
Elderflower cordial is really just a sugar syrup infused with elderflower heads and small amount of acidity to add sharpness and so that it keeps. The two normal acids used are tartaric and citric. I managed to make around two and a half bottles with around 30 elderflower heads. With regards to sugar I really couldn’t tell you how much I put in, so have a look online and this should give you a rough idea.
